After agreeing to manage Paradiso Hostel and run our own bar on restaurant, Quinn and I quickly became familiar with all of the rooms and buildings. The property is quite large on the craters edge, which is actually what the property used to be called.

At the top of the property are our most luxurious bedrooms with a private bathroom. These rooms can sleep two to three people and one of the bathrooms even has hot water in the shower from electricity in the shower head.

Just outside of the upstairs rooms is a computer station that Quinn and I work from daily.

There is also a very large and relaxing indoor/outdoor lounge area with hammocks, comfy bamboo lounge furniture and awesome coffee tables made from antique doors.

Below the lounge are four private bedrooms that share a unique outdoor bathroom. The first few nights we stayed here, we slept in one of these rooms for $25 a night–it was very peaceful and cool down there.

Just 40 feet above the lake are the dorms. They definitely have the best view in the house. The bunk beds are extremely comfortable–my sister slept in one of them while she was here on vacation, so we all tried them out.  The cost is $10 a night per bed, which we think is a pretty sweet deal as it comes complete with an amazing morning view of the sunrise on the lake.

All of the overnight guests get access to the shared kitchen, book exchange and DVD library which Quinn and I have utilized quite a bit, especially while she was sick.

There are 16 rooms and 12 dorm beds in total which gives the potential for 31 people to stay here over night.  Who would have thought that Quinn and I would ever manage a hostel in Central America?  We certainly never did, but life is all about the journey and this is definitely one hell of a ride.
