Our Favorite Breakfast Spot in Masaya, Nicaragua

Six days a week Quinn and I eat the same breakfast at one of our favorite restaurants in Masaya.  The restaurant is a little gem which looks like a residential house from the outside. It’s owned and run by a very sweet and hard working family who puts in an extra friendly effort to make their customers feel like they’re at home.

Their friendly atmosphere and delicious home cooked food obviously work considering the fact that Quinn and I order the same meal everyday. Our typical order is: two coffees, two tortillas, four eggs, two sides of beans and one side of gallo pinto.

We always load it up with a mound of chillerno hot sauce and their homemade chopped onion sauce called “cebollita”.  Quinn and I make it mandatory to always start the morning with a proper breakfast where we can plan out the tasks for the day. We’re not usually ones for daily routines, as we purchased our cheap tickets here to start a different kind of life, but it’s the perfect way to get our always random and exciting day in Nicaragua started.

Love this! When my husband and I went to Peru this year, breakfast was always the meal we looked forward to most, as the locals made everything fresh – and of course, each item was delicious! Thanks for sharing a snapshot of breakfast in Nicaragua – it is always interesting to see what different cultures enjoy for their morning meal. Cheers!
