Our Story

How Did Life Out of the Box Start?

Life Out of the Box started with a dream to travel the world, live our ideal lives and make the world a better place. At age 25, Quinn & Jonathon left everything behind in California + moved to Nicaragua with just two backpacks and a huge passion to start something that allowed us and others to truly make an impact on the world. After 6 months of living like locals, living off of $2/day, working with local educational non-profits and local artisans–Life Out of the Box was launched from our tiny $4 a night hostel.

After we made our first sale + gave school supplies to the first child in Nicaragua, we traveled all over Nicaragua giving school supplies to thousands of children. Since we launched in November 2012, we have developed Life Out of the Box products from Nicaragua, Guatemala and Morocco and have given thousands of school supplies to kids in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, Morocco, Kenya and Belize.

Check out the timeline below to see the entire journey how Life Out of the Box was created from the very beginning!

Here's how Life Out of the Box Works
